The director gave us free reign to come up with something incendiary for this scene where the protagonsit comes under fire from the enemy. We wanted the orchestra to sound menacing and unstable so we spent a couple of days sound designing our arrangement and blending those parts back into the mix.

We'd also been experimenting with all kinds of acoustic percussive loops for this scene, most of which were made by picking, slapping and generally abusing a banjo run through a stack of sound manglers.
